Dr. Chongzhi Zang is an Assistant Professor at the University of Virginia (UVA). He is a faculty member in the Center for Public Health Genomics, Department of Public Health Sciences, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics, Department of Biomedical Engineering, and School of Data Science at UVA. Dr. Zang received his BS degree in physics from Peking University and PhD in physics from the George Washington University. He did his PhD research in computational biophysics at the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), and completed his postdoctoral training in biostatistics and computational biology at Harvard University's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, before joining the faulty of UVA in 2016. Dr. Zang is a computational biologist. His research focuses on quantitative modeling and computational methodology development in epigenetics and functional genomics. His recent research directions include high-dimensional multi-omics data integration, computational modeling of new data from innovative genomics technologies, and gene regulation in human cancer and immune systems, etc.
