Richard Zhang is an Equity Partner of Apax Partners and the Head of Greater China, leading Apax operations in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. Apax, headquartered in London, is one of the world’s top private equity advisors with over USD50 billion raised over time. Mr. Zhang's significant Apax deal experiences includes: SoYoung, Guotaijunan, SouFun, Zhaopin, and Tommy China, etc. Prior to joining Apax, Mr. Zhang was a Senior Partner of McKinsey & Company. He had over 15 years of management consulting experience in the U.S. and China. Being the most senior Chinese Partner, he played a key role in building McKinsey’s China practice into pre-eminence. He was then the first Chinese mainlander to serve on McKinsey’s global Partner selection committee. Mr. Zhang has a master’s degree in finance from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Mr. Zhang was the recipient of several major U.S. national scholarship awards and was named to the All-U.S.A. College Academic Team by USA Today in recognition of his outstanding academic accomplishment and leadership. Mr. Zhang was a member of the Boao Asia Forum Young Leaders’ Group.
