Berkeley in 1997 with Master degree in Physics, Master in Economics, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences; Bachelor degree in Earth and Space Sciences from the University of Science and Technology of China. UC Berkeley top award "Chancellor Citation" recipient.

Chief Executive of the Chinese "National Starlight Integrated Circuits Project"; developed the first semiconductor chipset made in China sold to Apple, Samsung, HP, Sony, Lenovo, etc..  2004 National First Class Award for Science and Technology of China by the President and 2005 National "Model Worker" Medal. Iconized as "Father of China Semiconductor Chipset".

Co-Founder and Chief Scientist of Vimicro Corporation.
